Insulation Jackets IJ

Forbes Marshall removable insulation jackets are available for steam traps, valves, flanges, steam pipeline accessories like moisture separators, condensate pumps, flash separators and other equipment. These insulation jackets help prevent heat loss in the form of radiation losses and help conserve energy while also preventing injuries to plant personnel operating in the proximity.

Forbes Marshall insulation jackets are durable and reusable making them a practical and a cost effective choice compared to traditional insulation methods.

Why are insulation jackets necessary?
In steam systems, about 8 to 12% of the energy in steam is lost in steam distribution with a significant portion attributed to radiation from high-temperature components like flanges, valves, flash vessels, and moisture separators, which can reach 150-200°C. These losses not only inflate operational costs, but also makes it difficult to maintain.

For plants located in colder climates, these losses are even more amplified with lower ambient temperatures accelerate heat dissipation, further reducing system efficiency and increasing fuel costs.

Variants

Insulation Jacket for Pressure Powered Pump Package Units (IJ-PPPPU, IJ-MV55, IJ-PPPPU-D)

• Models: IJ-PPPPU, IJ-MV55, and IJ-PPPPU-D.
• Application: For the body and receiver of the Pressure Powered Pump Package Unit (PPPPU, MV55, and PPPPU-D).
• Sizes: Available with velcro fitting for sizes DN 25 to DN 80. Separate jackets are available for flange connections.

Insulation Jacket for Flanges (IJ-Flange)

• Application: For preventing heat energy losses from flanged joints.
• Sizes: Low temperature versions with velcro fitting, suitable for all types of flanges from DN 15 to DN 80.

Insulation Jacket for Strainers (IJ-FMSTR)

• Application: For preventing heat energy losses from the body of the strainer.
• Sizes: Low temperature version with velcro fitting suitable for strainers DN 40, 50, 80, and also available for higher sizes.

Insulation Jacket for Moisture Separators (IJ-FMSEP)

• Application: For preventing heat energy losses from the body of the moisture separator.
• Sizes: Low temperature version with velcro fitting suitable for moisture separators DN 20, 25, 40, 50, 80, 100, and also available for higher sizes on request.

Insulation Jacket for Steam and Condensate Manifolds (IJ-FMSCM)

• Application: For preventing heat energy loss from the body and bonnet of the manifold.
• Sizes: With velcro fitting suitable for DN 15, 20 steam and condensate manifold (4 way, 8 way, 12 way).

Insulation Jacket for Pressure Reducing Valves (IJ-FMPRV)

• Application: For preventing heat energy loss from the body of the pressure reducing valve.
• Sizes: Available with velcro fitting for:
• FMPRV41: DN 15 to 50
• DSPRV41: DN 40 and 50
• FMPRV53: DN 15 to 80

Insulation Jacket for Piston Valves (IJ-PSVAL)

• Application: For preventing any heat energy losses from piston valves.
• Sizes: Low temperature version with velcro fitting suitable for all sizes of piston valves ranging from DN 15 to DN 250.

Insulation Jacket for Flash Vessels (IJ-FMFV)

• Application: For preventing heat energy loss from the body of the flash vessel.
• Sizes: With velcro fitting suitable for flash vessel DN 150-375 for all standard sizes.
